Growin' Up With Dad.

Well, I remember growin' up with Dad,
Those wonderful times we always had,
And why he never tho't so, I'll never know,
'Cos we sure had a terrific time,
Hangin' little sister on the laundry line,
She didn't mind, if we didn't hang her by her toes,

Dad was never much of a sport you see,
When we asked him to play hide and seek,
He'd tell us to hide, then off somewhere he'd go,
Later he'd stagger in from the club,
And he'd smile and look right down at us,
And say, so I see you finally found your way back home,

O', Daddy was our hero,
The best we ever had,
And even if it wasn't enough for us,
It sure was enough for Dad,

Well, I'm not sayin' that my dad was mean,
But one day he heard my little sister scream,
And he came out and found her hangin' on the laundry line,
Well, he yanked her down and he started to cuss,
Then he spanked my little sister instead of us,
Screamin' that it took him a year to hang that line,

Well, we felt bad for what we'd done,
We told my little sister not to worry none,
That we could always hang her from our favorite climbin' tree,
Well, she was always happy if we said she was,
And if we didn't make her eat too many bugs,
She's been that way since we made her eat a bumblebee,

O', Daddy was our hero,
The best we ever had,
And even if it wasn't enough for us,
It sure was enough for Dad,

Well, it's been years since I've been away,
And I'd like to go back and visit some day,
Dad says he wouldn't mind, 'cos he's never around,
He says he's ashamed of what we used to do,
And for everything we put my little sister thru'
And someday we oughta go back and cut her down,
