Eyes Like Twenty.

Unpublished Works, © 2004, BillyPauleyJr.*

Eyes Like Twenty.

Growing in the age,
Of my blind ambition,
Seeing you,
Was never my suspicion,
But here you are,
Standing in the day,
Eyes like twenty,
Words like rain,
Yeah, eyes like twenty,
Words like rain,

I was so certain,
No one else could see,
I never tho’t,
You’d see more than me,
But here you are,
Taking my pain,
Eyes like twenty,
Words like rain,
Yeah, eyes like twenty,
Words like rain,

O’, eyes like twenty,
Words like rain,
Falling into me,
Filling up my pain,
Pull it from my heart,
Take it away,
O’, eyes like twenty,
Words like rain,

I’ve been here so long,
Never tho’t I’d see,
So more like you,
So inside of me,
O’, but here you are,
More than I could pray,
Eyes like twenty,
Words like rain,
Yeah, eyes like twenty,
Words like rain,

O’, eyes like twenty,
And your words,
They touch me, o’, yeah,
Words like rain.

I Wanna Go To London.

Unpublished Works, © 1997, Bill Pauley Jr.*

I Wanna Go To London.

I wanna go to London,
I wanna go to Mexico,
I wanna go somewhere in this world,
You cannot go,
I wanna go to Hong Kong,
I wanna go to Paris, France,
I wanna go somewhere in this world,
You haven’t a chance,

But no matter where I go,
You always find,
A way to my soul,
My heart and my mind,

I wanna go to Kansas,
I wanna go to Arkansas,
I wanna go where you can’t go,
There oughta be a law,
I wanna go to Texas,
I wanna go to Idaho,
I wanna go to Rio De Janeiro,
Honey, I don’t know,

‘Cos no matter where I go,
You always find,
A way to my soul,
My heart and my mind,

I wanna go to Moscow,
I wanna go to Timbuktu,
I wanna go somewhere in this world,
There is no you,
I wanna go to Boston,
I wanna go to Katmandu,
I wanna go somewhere in this world,
You can’t find your way to,

But no matter where I go,
You always find,
A way to my soul,
My heart and my mind,

I wanna go to Frankfurt,
I wanna go to Buffalo,
I wanna go, wanna go, wanna go,
Wanna go, I wanna go,
I wanna go to Sydney,
I wanna go to Tokyo,
I wanna go, wanna go, wanna go,
Where you cannot go,

I wanna go crazy,
I wanna get out of this town,
I wanna run away,
Where you cannot be found,
I wanna go to London.

Pausal Note #4

It's been awhile since I took a break... today on Michael Jackson's birthday; I'll pause. Michael was a talented singer/songwriter and that's all I really know about him that I can say is true. And that's the pause...

What is true to you?

Not about Michael, but in life... do you know? That may seem like an odd question, but I'm not sure everyone knows truth the way it really is. The truth naked is not sexy, so we dress it up and view it thru' our emotional outlook. As our emotions change, so does our truth. But really... truth is the one thing that will never change. So again... do you know?

I celebrate Michael Jackson for the truth I know about his art. He was a genius; this is true and will not change.

I challenge you to surround yourself in truth. Dash the emotionally obscured views and accept only truth. You will find yourself happy and your life will be nicer.

"...if they say why, why; tell 'em that it's human nature; why, why, does he do me that way..." - michael jackson*

Emptiness In Waiting.

Unpublished Works, © 2006, BillyPauleyJr.*

Emptiness In Waiting.

Lately I’ve been weakened,
By the things I can’t control,
Creating distance like a rocket,
Between me and my soul,
I can only hope you’ll see,
Beneath my outer woe,
The love here waiting for you,
But alas, it’s only hope,

And in my cold reality,
O’, why would someone wait for me,
I’ve nothing now to offer you,
My sky is often dismal blue,

The world outside is far too rough,
O’, here inside I’m full of love,
But the emptiness in waiting is not enough,

Here inside my trouble,
I can’t expect for you to know,
The pain of my perception,
In the fear I often hold,
O’, somewhere in the distance,
Just beyond life’s recent view,
Is the lonely, silent promise,
Of the love I have for you,

And in my cold reality,
O’, why would someone wait for me,
I’ve nothing now to offer you,
My sky is often dismal blue,

The world outside is far too rough,
O’, here inside I’m full of love,
But the emptiness in waiting is not enough,

Lately I’ve been shattered,
By the emptiness in you,
Created by the pressure,
From my overwhelming truth,
How long can love survive,
Bound inside my angry doubt,
I have so much love here for you,
But my time is running out,

And in my cold reality,
O’, why would someone wait for me,
I’ve nothing now to offer you,
My sky is often dismal blue,

The world outside is far too rough,
O’, here inside I’m full of love,
But the emptiness in waiting is not enough,

O’, honey, it’s just lately I’m not enough,
O’, the emptiness in waiting is not enough.

I Love Ya For It.

Unpublished Works, © 1981, BillyPauleyJr.*

I Love Ya For It.

Sometimes I wonder how I stay alive,
Sometimes I wonder why I fight to survive,
Then comes along a someone like you,
And I know right away why I do,

You’ve got power, you’ve got will,
You’ve got a forceful style,
You’ve got love in your heart,
I can feel for miles,
And on top of all that, your warm, sweet smile,
Couldn’t have come at a better time,

O’, just in the nick of time,
You came up to me baby and you saved my life,
Just in the nick of time,
O’, and I love ya for it,
Just in the nick of time,
You helped me mend this broken heart of mine,
Just in the nick of time,
O’, and I love ya for it,

When I’m without you it chills my heart,
It’s a feeling I get that tears me apart,
But when I get to feeling this way,
I know your smile can save my day,

You’ve got charm, you’ve got wit,
You’ve got a lot of luck,
You’ve got love in your eyes,
I can feel so much,
And on top of all that, your warm, sweet touch,
Couldn’t have come at a better time,

O’, just in the nick of time,
You came up to me baby and you saved my life,
Just in the nick of time,
O’, and I love ya for it,
Just in the nick of time,
You helped me mend this broken heart of mine,
Just in the nick of time,
O’, and I love ya for it,

Sometimes I wonder if I’ll stay alive,
Sometimes I wonder if I’ll ever survive,
Then comes along no one else but you,
And I know love will pull me thru’,

You’ve got spirit, you’ve got soul,
You’ve got a need to help,
You’ve got love in your reach,
That’s never been held,
And on top of all that, your warm, sweet self,
Couldn’t have come at a better time,

O’, just in the nick of time,
You came up to me baby and you saved my life,
Just in the nick of time,
O’, and I love ya for it,
Just in the nick of time,
You helped me mend this broken heart of mine,

House Full Of Roses.

Unpublished Works, © 2001, Bill Pauley Jr.*

House Full Of Roses.

She wakes herself up crying,
To another day in hell,
It could be he’s not lying,
O’, but it’s just as well,
Each sacrifice she’s making,
Is deeper than the rest,
There’s only so much taking,
Before there’s nothing left,

And she can’t explain it herself,
She couldn’t believe it from anyone else,

She’s got a house full of roses,
And a heart full of pain,
The only thing she knows is,
He says… he’ll never do it again,
But the consequence it poses,
Is driving her insane,
She’s got a house full of roses,
And a heart full of pain,

She falls asleep at night crying,
Another day in hell,
It could be he’s not trying,
O’, but it’s just as well,
She knows her heart is bleeding,
Her love for him is dead,
She knows she should be leaving,
Because there’s nothing left,

And she can’t believe it herself,
She couldn’t explain it to anyone else,

She’s got a house full of roses,
And a heart full of pain,
The only thing she knows is,
He says… he’ll never do it again,
But the consequence it poses,
Is driving her insane,
She’s got a house full of roses,
And a heart full of pain,

O’, and the roses grow deeper and deeper,
And the meaning grows weaker and weaker,
They no longer mean that he needs her,
He’s trying his best just to keep her,

She’s got a house full of roses,
And a heart full of pain,
The only thing she knows is,
She’s sure… he’ll only do it again,
And the consequence it poses,
Is driving her insane,
She’s got a house full of roses,
And a heart full of pain,

O’, she’s got a house full of roses,
And a heart full of pain.

What The Hell Was I Thinkin'?

Unpublished Works, © 2003, BillyPauleyJr.*

What The Hell Was I Thinkin’?

I went out of my way,
To show you my love,
I bo’t you red roses,
I bro’t you a hug,
I told all my friends,
Tonight I’m not drinkin’,
O’, my word,
What the hell was I thinkin’?

O’, what the hell was I thinkin’,
Givin’ you my heart?
It’s like no Saturday drinkin’,
It’s like showing my cards,
It’s like passin’ a cutie,
Not turnin’ and winkin’,
It’s like fallin’ in love with you,
O’, what the hell was I thinkin’?

I went to the cleaners,
Picked up your dress,
I went to the mall,
Got those shoes you like best,
Drove down to Bob’s,
I bo’t you a Lincoln,
O’, my word,
What the hell was I thinkin’?

O’, what the hell was I thinkin’,
Givin’ you my heart?
It’s like no Saturday drinkin’,
It’s like showing my cards,
It’s like passin’ a cutie,
Not turnin’ and winkin’,
It’s like fallin’ in love with you,
O’, what the hell was I thinkin’?

Baby, every man knows it’s true, what I say,
A full house can beat a straight any day,
But I’m taking one hell of a dare,
Startin’ with you only gives me a pair,

O’, what the hell was I thinkin’,
Givin’ you my heart?
It’s like no Saturday drinkin’,
It’s like showing my cards,
It’s like passin’ a cutie,
Not turnin’ and winkin’,
It’s like fallin’ in love with you,
O’, what the hell was I thinkin’?

Yeah, it’s like fallin’ in love with you,
What the hell was I thinkin’?

I Think I Can.

Unpublished Works, © 1997, BillyPauleyJr.*

I Think I Can.

Every night I dream,
It’s always the same,
I live in love and happiness,
I never feel pain,
And every morning I,
Wake to a different world,
I lie with my broken heart,
I cry like a lonely girl,

But I think I can, I think I can,
Grow stronger everyday,
O', I think I can, I think I can,
Tear down my walls of gray,
And I won’t give up,
‘Til I’ve reached my highest stand,
And only because you know,
I think I can,

Sometimes I wonder,
O’, when you look at me,
Can you see my hurt,
Can you see my need,
‘Cos sometimes I feel,
Like I’m never understood,
Like I need someone,
To make me feel good,

But I think I can, I think I can,
Grow stronger everyday,
O', I think I can, I think I can,
Tear down my walls of gray,
And I won’t give up,
‘Til I’ve reached my highest stand,
And only because you know,
I think I can,

O’, I think I can,
Tear down those lonely walls,
And I think I can,
O’, I know I can do it all,

‘Cos I know I can, I know I can,
Grow stronger everyday,
O', I know I can, I know I can,
Tear down my walls of gray,
And I won’t give up,
‘Til I’ve reached my highest stand,
And only because you know,
I know I can,

O’, yeah, only because you know,
I know I can.

Falling Into Winter.

Falling into Winter.

O', cannot we see at all,
The death of things that come in fall,
Fall loses warmth that the summer lent her,
Then gains coldness for the coming winter,
Now, as the snow about the ground does lie,
The birth spring fought for begins to die,
The elements of winter leave nothing to save,
Just the death of life and its quiet grave.

I Really Like (Love) The Rainshine.

Unpublished Works, © 1979, BillyPauleyJr.*

I Really Like (Love) The Rainshine.

I really like the rainshine,
It laughs at everyone,
Capturing the skyline,
And casting out the sun,

Liquifying the nation,
Or just a tiny town,
It controls emotions,
A smile and a frown,

Sharp as golden needles,
Soft as goose’s down,
Cooling off the beetles,
Or flooding mighty towns,

The coolness of its icy touch,
Can burn thru’ any man,
As the heat grows to much,
Cooling all the lands,

Understandings not for me,
Altho’ I don’t know why,
I hope that I will see,
Someday before I die,

I really love the rainshine,
It laughs at everyone,
Capturing the skyline,
And casting out the sun.

An’ swings dem over to me,

Flowin’ in ecstasy,
Dance for me, only me, my girl,
An’ let de whole world see,

Falling Hearts.

Unpublished Works, © 2002, BillyPauleyJr.*

Falling Hearts.

Do I love you,
Or am I just holding on,
To a broken, falling heart,
Is your love true,
Is it coincidence,
To find me where you are,

When I look into your eyes,
I know you feel the same pain,
There’s no better disguise,
To help you hide away,

O’, falling hearts,
You and I go well together,
Maybe not forever,
But for better, the way we are,

Falling hearts,
O’, it only makes me cry,
‘Cos we can never fly,
On falling hearts,

Is this so good,
Is the feeling here to stay,
Or will it fade into the dark,
Is this so bad,
Can we never overcome,
Our broken, falling hearts,

When you look at me now,
I know you’re hungry like I am,
O’, to hide it somehow,
Is a lonely, likely plan,

O’, falling hearts,
You and I go well together,
Maybe not forever,
But for better, the way we are,

Falling hearts,
O’, it only makes me cry,
‘Cos we can never fly,
On falling hearts,

O’, yes, it only makes me cry,
‘Cos we can never fly,
On falling hearts.

After Losing You.

Unpublished Works, © 1980, BillyPauleyJr.*

After Losing You.

I woke up this morning,
And I laughed at myself,
It’s the first time I’ve smiled in weeks,
I remembered that night,
When blue stars fell,
To wash your powdered cheeks,

I kept saying goodbye,
Darlin’, please, o’ please don’t cry,
But you kept sayin’ to me,
O’ you kept sayin’ to me,

Why shouldn’t I be crying,
After what you’ve done,
You made me feel like dying,
Just when I felt number one,
O’ why shouldn’t I be crying,
You’d be crying too,
If you felt the way that I did,
After losing you,

You looked so different,
When you tried to smile,
Still hoping that I would stay,
Somehow you knew,
I’d be gone for life,
If I ever went away,

I kept saying goodbye,
Darlin’, please, o’ please don’t cry,
But you kept sayin’ to me,
O’ you kept sayin’ to me,

Why shouldn’t I be crying,
After what you’ve done,
You made me feel like dying,
Just when I felt number one,
O’ why shouldn’t I be crying,
You’d be crying too,
If you felt the way that I did,
After losing you,

I called you up,
Just to say I was wrong,
And soon I’d be coming home,
You said you were tired,
Of the same old song,
And you didn’t mind being alone,

You kept saying goodbye,
Darlin’, please, o’ please don’t cry,
But I kept sayin’ don’t go,
O’ please don’t hang up the phone,

Why shouldn’t I be crying,
After what you’ve done,
You made me feel like dying,
Just when I felt number one,
O’ why shouldn’t I be crying,
You’d be crying too,
If you felt the way that I did,
After losing you.

When You Go (I Will Be Lonely).

Unpublished Works, © 1982, BillyPauleyJr.*

When You Go (I Will Be Lonely).

I don’t know how I could be,
Don’t know why I should,
It makes me feel so silly,
But still I knew I would,

O’, I’ll be lonely when you go away,
There’ll be an empty space in every day,
I know you don’t belong to me,
And I should have no say,
But still I will be lonely when you go away,

I hope you hurry back soon,
And end my lonely times,
I’ll be listening to those sad, sad tunes,
And learning all the lines,

O’, I’ll be lonely when you go away,
There’ll be an empty space in every day,
I know you don’t belong to me,
And I should have no say,
But still I will be lonely when you go away,

I hope you liked the flower,
I gave to you today,
I’d planned our final hour,
In a more romantic way,
But it just wasn’t meant to be,
So we just said goodbye,
And here I sit watching you,
Ride off into the night,

O’, I’ll be lonely when you go away,
There’ll be an empty space in every day,
I know you don’t belong to me,
And I should have no say,
But still I will be lonely when you go away.

The Addiction.

I met a young man and he told me his name,
He asked me how I had been feelin’ that day,
I didn’t answer and he knew right away,
That I was down, down, down,

He said you’re lonely I can easily tell,
Your actions do show your tho’ts very well,
You know you can escape from all of this hell,
I asked him how, how, how,

He said just, o’ just be happy with me,
Just sit back and take it easy,
Don’t be worried ‘bout reality,
No, just be happy with me,

Then he gave me some of what he was doin’,
And I tho’t I was destined to ruin,
But after a while I began to smile,
I was high, high, high,

I read a paper that said don’t do this drug,
‘Cos if you do then you will die very young,
Then I wondered ‘bout my friendly advice,
Was it right, right, right,

When he said just, o’ just be happy with me,
Just sit back and take it easy,
Don’t be worried ‘bout reality,
O’, just be happy with me,

I met a young man and I told him my name,
I asked him how he had been feelin’ that day,
He didn’t answer and I knew right away,
That he was down, down, down,

I said you’re lonely I can easily tell,

Emily.

When you were Emily,
I could talk to you,
You could open up,
I could hear you true,
Love was changing me,
Rearranging me,
When you were Emily,

When you were Emily,
I could see your heart,
Grant your every wish,
Fill your sky with stars,
I could feel your need,
Reaching out for me,
When you were Emily,

When you were Emily,
I could hold you so,
Even far away,
I could not let go,
It was beautiful,
Simply dutiful,
When you were Emily,

When you were Emily,
O’, I knew you well,
You could win my heart,
I would never tell,
Deep inside my dream,
You were calling me,
When you were Emily,

When you were Emily,
You were in my soul,
I could feel your smile,
Now I long to know,
Will you ever be,
Like you were to me,
When you were Emily,

What a lovely time,
When your heart was mine,
When you were Emily.

Every Now And Then.

Unpublished Works, © 1980, BillyPauleyJr.*

Every Now And Then.

Sometimes love just slips away,
And sometimes it just slips,
It sure takes a loving heart,
To know how to forgive,
And there will often be those times,
When you just won’t fit in,
‘Cos love needs a little sacrifice,
Every now and then,

Yeah, every now and then, my baby,
Every now and then,
Love needs a little sacrifice,
Every now and then,

Sometimes we really give it a chance,
Hoping it will never end,
And sometimes we don’t give a damn,
And hide between our friends,
I hope we can make up our minds,
Without any help from them,
‘Cos love needs a little self advice,
Every now and then,

Yeah, every now and then, my baby,
Every now and then,
Love needs a little self advice,
Every now and then,

Sometimes we will understand,
And sometimes we won’t at all,
‘Cos sometimes love falls right in our hands,
And sometimes it just falls,
If we stumble once or twice,
Don’t think that it’s a sin,
‘Cos lovers have to pay a price,
Every now and then,

Yeah, every now and then, my baby,
Every now and then,
Lovers have to pay a price,
Every now and then,

And I think the gain is worth the loss,
Yeah, I think the pleasure’s worth the cost,
But there are times when I do not,
Every now and then.

In All The World There Is (No One Like You).

Unpublished Works © 2005, BillyPauleyJr.

In All The World There Is… (No One Like You).

In all the world there is,
No one like you,

When my weary world,
Is drowning in silence,
From all the souls,
That won’t give me the truth,
I smile just to know,
In my disappointment,
In all the world there is,
No one like you,

When in all the world there is,
Doubt and dissolution,
When in all the world there is,
Promise untrue,
When in all the world there is,
Nothing to believe in,
In all the world there is,
No one like you,

When loss and deception,
Come looking for me,
To keep my heart,
Feeling lonely and blue,
I smile just to know,
In my moment of doubt,
In all the world there is,
No one like you,

When in all the world there is,
Doubt and dissolution,
When in all the world there is,
Promise untrue,
When in all the world there is,
Nothing to believe in,
In all the world there is,
No one like you,

And I can hold on,
Thru’ so much sorrow,
My soul’s compass set on,
Your magnetic truth,
Yes, I can have faith,
Knowing tomorrow,
In all the world there is,
Someone like you,

When in all the world there is,
Doubt and dissolution,
When in all the world there is,
Promise untrue,
When in all the world there is,
Nothing to believe in,
In all the world there is,
No one like you,

No one like you.

Testing 4-3-2-1-0.

Unpublished Works, © 1979, BillyPauleyJr.*

Testing 4-3-2-1-0.

Once a scientist conducted a test,
To see with how many legs a frog could jump best,
Four legged he cleared fifty feet with a twitch,
The scientist keeping track to tell which is which,
The scientist called out, “jump, frog, jump”,
And with three legs he sailed forty feet with a thump,
The scientist gave his command with a bark,
And the two legged frog hit the twenty foot mark,
The frog with one leg barely made it ten feet,
The scientist writes it down to keep records neat,
The no legged frog was ready for action,
But it was evident that he could get no traction,
The scientist yelled, “jump” again and again,
But the frog stayed motionless in the same old trend,
The scientist screamed, but the frog still stayed near,
So he wrote, “a frog with no legs just cannot hear”.
