Tomorrow, The Forecast Is Rain.

Unpublished Works, © 1996, BillyPauleyJr.*

Tomorrow, The Forecast Is Rain.

I remember the first time you left me alone,
I cried and I tried to keep you at home,
I saw tears in your eyes as you pulled away,
And the blue sky, it turned to grey,

And the rain, it kept me all night long,
It comforted me while you were gone,
Now, it’s been years since you’ve been away,
But the sky, it keeps on raining,
I try, but it keeps on raining,

Some people say it’s a matter of time,
Others insist it’s all in my mind,
But the sky, it understands my pain,
That’s why it continues to rain,
Like the sky, I cry every day,

And the rain, it keeps me all night long,
It comforts me while you are gone,
Now, it’s been years since you’ve been away,
But the sky, it keeps on raining,
I try, but it keeps on raining,

They say the rain distorts what is true,
But it’s rained for years, since I lost you,
And the weather, they say, will surely change,
Yet tomorrow, the forecast is rain,
How much time must I give to my pain,

O’ the rain, it keeps me all night long,
It comforts me while you are gone,
Now, it’s been years since you’ve been away,
But the sky, it keeps on raining,
I try, but it keeps on raining,

I cry and the sky keeps on raining.

Pausal Note #3

Ten years ago today I woke up from a 3-day coma, a state I was in due to a high-speed car accident on the German autoban. It took me over a month 'til I could read & even longer 'til I could comprehend anything I read. When I finally got to that point, I tried to write again & finish my work I was currently in the middle of, but I was not able to concentrate or put creative tho'ts together on paper. It was as if my creative skills and my functional skills would not work together. "Frustration" ruled my days. I always found it ironic that the last words I wrote 'before' my accident were "...I blacked out." Finally, in November/December of 1999 I was able to snap the pieces together and finish my work.

So it is with tremendous pride and happiness that I will present to you that same work, my first published work; "Denny's Night?" on 09-02-09.

Break's over! Back on your heads!

Stay Gold.

Unpublished Works, © 1987, BillyPauleyJr.*

Stay Gold.

There you go,
Ah, there you go,
I hate to see you go away,
But I cannot keep you home,
Take your time,
Don’t forget to write,
Don’t look back and don’t hesitate,
You may never say goodbye,

Well, I know you must go on your own,
And I know it breaks your heart to go,
O’, it takes everything to let you know,
I believe in you… stay gold,
Ponyboy, stay gold,

When you leave,
O’, where you’ll be,
There’ll be a part of me to take,
For something just to keep,
And take it well,
Life can be hell,
For the difference it might make,
I’d go myself,

Well, I know you must go on your own,
And I know it breaks your heart to go,
O’, it takes everything to let you know,
I believe in you… stay gold,
Ponyboy, stay gold,

Ah, there you go,
Yeah, there you go,
But what you see along the way,
Will surely bring you home,
See my eyes,
Forget they cry,
Remember what I’m trying to say,
I’ll love you all my life,

O’, I know you must go on your own,
And I know it breaks your heart to go,
Yeah, it takes everything to let you know,
I believe in you… stay gold,
Ponyboy, stay gold,

Ah, there you go,
There you go.

Prob'ly.

Prob’ly.

Prob’ly if you want to,
Prob’ly if you don’t,
Prob’ly if you’ll see it thru’,
Prob’ly if you won’t,
Prob’ly when you’re stalling,
Prob’ly when you’re not,
Prob’ly when you remember me calling,
Prob’ly when you forgot,
Prob’ly why you’re wondering,
Prob’ly why you don’t care,
Prob’ly why you’re off and thundering,
Prob’ly why you’re there,
Prob’ly where you came from,
Prob’ly where you’re headed,
Prob’ly where you are most welcomed,
Prob’ly where you’re dreaded,
Prob’ly what you’re thinking,
Prob’ly what you know,
Prob’ly what you reveal while drinking,
Prob’ly what you don’t show,
Prob’ly who you hate,
Prob’ly who you like,
Prob’ly who you wouldn’t create,
Prob’ly who you might,
Prob’ly how you need to,
Prob’ly how you will,
Prob’ly how you give us life to,
Prob’ly how you kill,
Prob’ly for yourself,
Prob’ly for another,
Prob’ly for the chance for wealth,
Prob’ly for your mother,
Prob’ly to give a kiss,
Prob’ly to commit a crime,
Prob’ly to stop, you’d see this is,
Prob’ly too many times.

Waiting On A Kiss.

Unpublished Works, © 2004, BillyPauleyJr.*

Waiting On A Kiss.

She was left out in the cold,
Without warning, in a storm,
She was sure her love would know,
How to keep her body warm,
But what she didn’t wanna feel,
Was the longing in her soul,
For the love she tho’t was real,
For the man she didn’t know,

She’s not a complicated girl,
She’s got a simple kind of wish,
She’s not looking for the world,
She’s just waiting on a kiss,

She moved quietly thru’ the pain,
In the shadows of herself,
Accepting nothing, but the blame,
That belonged to someone else,
She did everything she could,
To attract him to her lips,
But her wanting did no good,
She was still without a kiss,

She’s not a complicated girl,
She’s got a simple kind of wish,
She’s not looking for the world,
She’s just waiting on a kiss,

O’, she tried and tried and cried and cried,
‘Cos more and more she realized,
The girl she started to become,
Was not the girl she tho’t he loved,

O’, she’s not a complicated girl,
She’s got a simple kind of wish,
She’s not looking for the world,
She’s just waiting on a kiss,
No, she’s not asking for the world,
She’s just waiting on a kiss.

Like Father, Like Dad.

Unpublished Works, © 1979, BillyPauleyJr.*

Like Father, Like Dad.

When I grow up, I wanna be like Dad,
And have everything that he ever had,
See everything that he ever saw,
Buy everything that he ever bo’t,
Save everything that he ever saved,
Give everything that he ever gave,
Read everything that he ever read,
Say everything that he ever said,
Get everything that he ever got,
Think everything that he ever tho’t,
Draw everything that he ever drew,
Know everything that he ever knew,
Spend everything that he ever spent,
Mean everything that he ever meant,
Do everything that he ever could,
Want everything that he ever would,
Love everything that he ever loved,
Be everything that he ever was,
But what he had that I want most is me,
A son to be everything I’ll ever be.

Absolutes.

Absolutes.

Every day our world is changing,
No guarantees for us,
No mapquest we can google,
No yahoo we can trust,
There are no absolutes,
This world will tell you so,
But in my heart, with you,
This world, I do not know,
Stronger than all power,
We have a promise, true,
And so unlike all others,
We have two absolutes,
Two absolute emotions,
Here, for all time to stay,
“I will always love you,
And that will never change”.

Always Follow Your Heart.

Unpublished Works, © 2000, BillyPauleyJr.*

Always Follow Your Heart.

Your heart lives in one world,
Your head in another,
Your heart knows your passion,
Your head knows your mother,
And every day your heart tries to hold you,
But in every way your head merely scolds you,
Tossing you out of your dreams,
Giving you fear in extremes,

But you mustn't give in to the world,
You're a passionate girl,
Yes, you are, yes, you are,
When it comes down to love,
Your heart is enough,
Always follow your heart,
O', sweet girl,
Always follow your heart,

Your heart gives you paintings,
Your head education,
Your heart cries for freedom,
While your head's on vacation,
And every day your heart tries to open,
But in every way your head gives you nothing,
Taking away what it's worth,
Bringing you down to the Earth,

But you mustn't give in to the world,
You're a passionate girl,
Yes, you are, yes, you are,
When it comes down to love,
Your heart is enough,
Always follow your heart,
O', sweet girl,
Always follow your heart,

Your heart plants your garden,
Your head plants your doubts,
Your heart sees you happy,
Your head wonders how,
And every day your heart dares to venture,
But in every way your head harshly censors

But you mustn't give in to the world,
You're a passionate girl,
Yes, you are, yes, you are,
When it comes down to love,
Your heart is enough,
Always follow your heart,
O', sweet girl,
Always follow your heart,

And there are often times when your head is your friend,
But in passion and love please, girl, let your heart win,

O’, you mustn't give in to the world,
You're a passionate, passionate girl,
Yes, you are, yes, you are,
Yes you are, yes you are,
O’, girl, always follow your heart,
O', sweet girl,
Always follow your heart.

Your Wizard Of Oz.

Unpublished Works, © 2002, BillyPauleyJr.*

Your Wizard Of Oz.

I wanna be your heart’s desire,
I wanna be your whole backyard full,
I wanna be your rainbow’s brighter side,
Auntie Em’ and Professor Marvel,
I wanna be your brainless scarecrow,
You can catch me when I fall,
And if you ever have to go,
You’ll miss me most of all,
I wanna be your ruby slippers,
I wanna click three times for you,
I wanna be your Emerald City,
And your little dog, Toto, too,
I wanna be your cowardly lion,
I wanna be your fraidy-cat,
I wanna be the king of your forest,
With one paw tied behind my back,
I wanna be your little Munchkin,
I wanna build you a yellow brick road,
I wanna be your good witch, Glinda,
And wake you with magical snow,
I wanna be your empty tin man,
You can oil my rusty parts,
I wanna use my ax to set you free,
Only you can break my heart,
I wanna be your home in Kansas,
The love you never really lost,
The dream you can wake up to,
I wanna be your Wizard of Oz.

Pausal Note #2.

Need another break? Me too.

I have to admit, blogging is new to me. I like the exposure it gives my works... I hope you all are sharing this blog with others.

Did you know that Theodor Seuss Geisel (Dr. Seuss) was turned down 44 times by publishers before his work "And To Think I Saw It On Mulberry Street" was accepted by Brown Publishing (a small publisher in NYC)?

Random House tried to acquire him after his work was a huge success, but it's reported he sent his "rejection" letter from them (one of the 44) as his response. Random House's rejection letter stated (like most others) that children didn't like poetry and that nonsensical stories won't sell.

Random House bo't Brown Publishing and eventually gave Seuss his own division "Beginner Books". No single author has sold half as many books for Random House to date.

Apology accepted.

Break's over! Back on your heads!

Shaking Up Shakespeare.

Unpublished Works, © 1979, BillyPauleyJr.*

Shaking Up Shakespeare.

To be or not to be, that is the question,
A Shakespearean soliloquy for Hamlet’s suggestion,
Romeo’s rose by another name would probably wilt,
And did Juliet die the second time from guilt,
Friends, Romans, countrymen, Brutus bro’t Caesar’s end,
With an enemy like that, he was sure short on friends,
While Antony tried to get a grasp on himself,
Cleopatra went and made an asp of herself,
It would’ve been better if the witches had said less,
Then McDuff wouldn’t have left McBeth’s body headless,
Shylock was nothing more than a total menace,
That gave Antonio problems in the Merchant of Venice,
To Shakespeare his plays must’ve been quite something,
But I find them merely Much Ado About Nothing.

Without A Face.

Unpublished Works, © 2003, BillyPauleyJr.*

Without A Face.

She’s so content,
Without a way,
She does her part,
She has no say,
O’, but she believes,
That’s her place,
She’s just a girl,
Without a face,

O’, she’s not unhappy,
She just doesn’t know,
She’s an emotion away,
From a heart of gold,
Just the length of her smile,
Keeps her hopes at bay,
O’, she’s an empty soul,
Without a face,

On the wall of love,
She’s a flower now,
No selfless heart,
Will likely vow,
O’, but she believes,
It’s no mistake,
She’s just a girl,
Without a face,

O’, she’s not unhappy,
She just doesn’t know,
She’s an emotion away,
From a heart of gold,
Just the length of her smile,
Keeps her hopes at bay,
O’, she’s an empty soul,
Without a face,

O’, she knows no tears,
She knows no pain,
She feels no loss,
Without a face,

But she knows no joy,
She knows no gain,
O’, she feels no love,
Without a face,

O’, she’s not unhappy,
She just doesn’t know,
She’s an emotion away,
From a heart of gold,
Just the length of her smile,
Keeps her hopes at bay,
O’, she’s an empty soul,
Without a face,

O’, she just doesn’t know,
Without a face,
O’, she’s a heart of gold,
Without a face.

You Can Call Me Clark (Your Un-Superman).

Unpublished Works, © 2004, BillyPauleyJr.*

You Can Call Me Clark (Your Un-Superman).

I can save the world,
But can the world save me,
It’s hard to be un-super now,
When no one wants me to be,
I can love and I can cry,
And I can feel like you,
Everyone can see me fly,
But no one sees me true,

You can call me Clark,
If you truly can,
I would be so proud to be,
Your un-superman,
You can save my days,
In ordinary ways,
You can hold my hand so I won’t,
Need to be so brave,

I could win you away,
With my powers, it’s true,
O’, but I just want the power,
To put a crush on you,
I can jump and I can fly,
And I can win, I know,
But I want to know what it’s like,
To need someone to hold,

You can call me Clark,
If you truly can,
I would be so proud to be,
Your un-superman,
You can save my days,
In ordinary ways,
You can hold my hand so I won’t,
Need to be so brave,

O’, you can save my days,
You can hold my hand,
You can call me Clark,
Your un-superman,
Yeah, you can call me Clark,
Your un-superman.

Fool Moon.

Unpublished Works, © 2002, BillyPauleyJr.*

Fool Moon.

I’m just a damn fool,
I know that I am,
You and me together,
That’s a damn fool plan,
But tonight it’s true,
Here in my heart,
Under this fool moon,
We’ll never part,

O’, blame it on the fool moon,
Just blame it on the fool moon,
The sun will be coming up, girl,
And I’ll be a fool soon,
And when I really see you,
You’ll be humming a new tune,
Don’t blame it on your heart,
No, just blame it on the fool moon,

You look so good,
Right where we sit,
Your face all aglow,
Your eyes moonlit,
I think I could stay,
I don’t think you could,
But my damn fool heart,
Sure wishes you would,

O’, blame it on the fool moon,
Just blame it on the fool moon,
The sun will be coming up, girl,
And I’ll be a fool soon,
And when I really see you,
You’ll be humming a new tune,
Don’t blame it on your heart,
No, just blame it on the fool moon,

O’, you can stand out and you can howl,
You can lay low and take a vow,
You can fall down and have a cow,
But you’re under the fool moon,
You’re under the fool moon now,

I’m just a damn fool,
O’, yes, I know that I am,
You and me forever,
That’s a damn fool plan,
But tonight I tho’t,
Here under the stars,
Under this fool moon,
I could win your heart,

O’, blame it on the fool moon,
Just blame it on the fool moon,
The sun will be coming up, girl,
And I’ll be a fool soon,
And when I really see you,
You’ll be humming a new tune,
Don’t blame it on your heart,
No, just blame it on the fool moon,
O’, don’t blame it on your heart,
Just blame it on the fool moon.

The Best Part Of Life Is Love.

Unpublished Works, © 1980, BillyPauleyJr.*

The Best Part Of Life Is Love.

There’s nothing like a sunset so deep and yet so long,
A sandy beach beneath our feet and a beautiful love song,
But we only have each other in the middle of a busy day,
And I can still find the short, sweet time it takes to turn and say,

Baby, I love you, I’ll always love you,
And I’ll never ever let you go,
And I can’t live without you ‘cos there’s something about you,
And I just tho’t I’d let it show,

This dusty old apartment is getting dry and worn,
The kitchen wall barely stands at all and the curtains have all been torn,
And an old man collects the rent way above our living style,
And it’s things like these that bring me to my knees, but still it’s all worthwhile,
‘Cos one day we’ll have that sunset so deep and yet so long,
A sandy beach beneath our feet and a beautiful love song,
But until we have that moment we’ve got to live today,
So I’ll just find the short, sweet time it takes to turn and say,

Baby, I love you, I’ll always love you,
And I’ll never ever let you go,
And I can’t live without you ‘cos there’s something about you,
And I just tho’t I’d let it show,

Now, finally, we got our sunset so deep and yet so long,
A sandy beach beneath our feet and a beautiful love song,
And you tell me you wish we had those old and busy days,
‘Cos then you knew it was you and not the view that made me turn and say,

Baby, I love you, I’ll always love you,
And I’ll never ever let you go,
And I can’t live without you ‘cos there’s something about you,
And I just tho’t I’d let it show,
‘Cos, Baby, I love you, I’ll always love you,
So I just tho’t I’d let you know.
