(She Held) Butterflies.

On the outside she looked like a fortress,
Like a place I would never go,
On the inside she looked like a mistress,
Like a lover I needed to know,
She could snap my will in her steely way,
Grounding my strength with her style,
But in the sweetest way she was beautiful,
Softly for me she held butterflies,

O’, she was wrong for me,
In so many ways,
Yet she could melt my heart,
With her eyes,
I was trying my best,
Just to turn away,
But there, in her charm,
She held butterflies,
O’, softly for me she held butterflies,

In her silence her passion was frozen,
Her yearning so secret to me,
In her eyes my love was unbroken,
Nothing lost in her shining sea,
She could make me doubt in her loyalty,
Filling my heart with her disguise,
But in her truth she was beautiful,
Softly for me she held butterflies,

O’, she was wrong for me,
In so many ways,
Yet she could melt my heart,
With her eyes,
I was trying my best,
Just to turn away,
But there, in her charm,
She held butterflies,
O’, softly for me she held butterflies,

She seemed to hold a warning,
Daring to unfold,
But tearful eyes,
And butterflies,
Is all her heart does hold,

So she pretends to love me not,
And I, in turn, reprise,
But deep inside her stealthy heart,
Softly for me she held butterflies,

O’, she was wrong for me,
In so many ways,
Yet she could melt my heart,
With her eyes,
I was trying my best,
Just to turn away,
But there, in her charm,
She held butterflies,
O’, softly for me she held butterflies.
