No Cure.

When you were young,
When you were just a babe,
A fever came to you,
Nearly took you away,
But your mother so faithful,
Held you in her arms,
And she nursed you to health,
And she kept you from harm,

O’, but now,
I’m the fever you bear,
And your mother can’t save you,
From something so rare,

There’s no cure for my love,
There’s no hope, there’s no getting away,
You’d better watch what you do,
You’d better mean what you say,
There’s no cure for my love I’m afraid,

O’, at night,
Before you go to sleep,
You’ll get out of yourself,
And get down on your knees,

And you’ll pray for the things,
That you wish for tonight,

As for me,

You just haven’t a prayer,
