Only My Eyes.

When we were together,
The world looked o', so right,
The birds in the trees,
The cool ocean breeze,
And the stars shining ever so bright,
But since you've been gone,
It hasn't looked that way at all,
The birds will not sing,
The ocean breeze stings,
And the stars are burning out as they fall,

And only my eyes see the sunset as darkness waking,
Only my eyes see the present for what it's cost,
Our eyes could see the love that we were making,
But only my eyes see the love that I have lost,

It used to be so,
The weather could not bring me down,
We could always keep warm,
Making love thru' the storm,
And fall was only spring touching the ground,
And now it seems the weather,
Is holding my emotions at bay,
The sun will not shine,
Rain reminds me to cry,
And fall is calling spring to its grave,

And only my eyes see the sunset as darkness waking,
Only my eyes see the present for what it's cost,
Our eyes could see the love that we were making,
But only my eyes see the love that I have lost,

Today I do wonder,
How the world now looks to your eyes,
Is the sky still as blue,
Does that matter to you,
Are you safe without me by your side
And again I do wonder,
How the world would look to us again,
Would the sky turn as gray,
Would it all be too late,
Did we lose the beginning by seeing the end,

O', and only my eyes see the sunset as darkness waking,
Only my eyes see the present for what it's cost,
Our eyes could see the love that we were making,
