The Running Place.

Have you ever heard of the running place,
It’s a place that I like to go to,
Where not a single soul is bro’t to disgrace,
It’s a place that I’d like to show you,
At 617 27th Street,
Lives a wonderful woman trying to make ends meet,
But whether she does or not,
She knows she never could lose what she’s got,

The running place,
It’s a home away from home,
I go to the running place,
If I ever get to feeling alone,

Have you ever got talking to yourself,
Because the walls refused to answer,
Well, come to the place where there’s someone else,
And we could always use another dancer,
Talking thru’ tomorrow,
What yesterday has done,
See the damage, feel the sorrow,
But remember now, it’s gone,

The running place,
It’s a home away from home,
I go to the running place,
If I ever get to feeling alone,

Have you ever felt no one listening to you,
So planned on running away,
Well, God help you, friend, if you do,
Please come to the running place,
If you have a problem,
Maybe we can help you out,
Or maybe every now and then,
You just have things to talk about,
