Out on the balcony,

What will I be…
…when I grow up to be somebody bigger than me,
I want to be everything to everyone,
I do not want only to…

I want to make people stand up and sing,
I want to shake steeples and hear the bells ring,
I want to hush babies and conquer your doubt,
I want to cure sadness and put fires out,
I want your bad times to go far away,
I want to help good times find you and stay,

I want to be everything to everyone,
I do not want only to…

I want to explain all things unknown,
I want to build cities, I want to make homes,
I want to climb mountains, I want to dig jewels,
I want to swim oceans, I want to fight duels,
There is no rest for a person like me,
If I want to be everything everyone needs,

I want to be everything to everyone,
I do not want only to…

I want to fly jets, I want to run trains,
I want to race cars, I want to make rain,
I want to teach birds to whistle and sing,
And teach you to fly on fearless wings,
I want to write books and read the stars,
And capture the sky and sell it in jars,

I want to be everything to everyone,
I do not want only to…

I want to put wind into your flight,
I want to take fear out of your night,
I want to be laughter, I want to be hope,
I want to be bubbles inside your soap,
I want to play sports, I want to save lives,
I may not be able, but I do want to try,
