Eyes Like Twenty.

Unpublished Works, © 2004, BillyPauleyJr.*

Eyes Like Twenty.

Growing in the age,
Of my blind ambition,
Seeing you,
Was never my suspicion,
But here you are,
Standing in the day,
Eyes like twenty,
Words like rain,
Yeah, eyes like twenty,
Words like rain,

I was so certain,
No one else could see,
I never tho’t,
You’d see more than me,
But here you are,
Taking my pain,
Eyes like twenty,
Words like rain,
Yeah, eyes like twenty,
Words like rain,

O’, eyes like twenty,
Words like rain,
Falling into me,
Filling up my pain,
Pull it from my heart,
Take it away,
O’, eyes like twenty,
Words like rain,

I’ve been here so long,
Never tho’t I’d see,
So more like you,
So inside of me,
O’, but here you are,
More than I could pray,
Eyes like twenty,
Words like rain,
Yeah, eyes like twenty,
Words like rain,

O’, eyes like twenty,
And your words,
They touch me, o’, yeah,
Words like rain.

I Wanna Go To London.

Unpublished Works, © 1997, Bill Pauley Jr.*

I Wanna Go To London.

I wanna go to London,
I wanna go to Mexico,
I wanna go somewhere in this world,
You cannot go,
I wanna go to Hong Kong,
I wanna go to Paris, France,
I wanna go somewhere in this world,
You haven’t a chance,

But no matter where I go,
You always find,
A way to my soul,
My heart and my mind,

I wanna go to Kansas,
I wanna go to Arkansas,
I wanna go where you can’t go,
There oughta be a law,
I wanna go to Texas,
I wanna go to Idaho,
I wanna go to Rio De Janeiro,
Honey, I don’t know,

‘Cos no matter where I go,
You always find,
A way to my soul,
My heart and my mind,

I wanna go to Moscow,
I wanna go to Timbuktu,
I wanna go somewhere in this world,
There is no you,
I wanna go to Boston,
I wanna go to Katmandu,
I wanna go somewhere in this world,
You can’t find your way to,

But no matter where I go,
You always find,
A way to my soul,
My heart and my mind,

I wanna go to Frankfurt,
I wanna go to Buffalo,
I wanna go, wanna go, wanna go,
Wanna go, I wanna go,
I wanna go to Sydney,
I wanna go to Tokyo,
I wanna go, wanna go, wanna go,
Where you cannot go,

I wanna go crazy,
I wanna get out of this town,
I wanna run away,
Where you cannot be found,
I wanna go to London.

Pausal Note #4

It's been awhile since I took a break... today on Michael Jackson's birthday; I'll pause. Michael was a talented singer/songwriter and that's all I really know about him that I can say is true. And that's the pause...

What is true to you?

Not about Michael, but in life... do you know? That may seem like an odd question, but I'm not sure everyone knows truth the way it really is. The truth naked is not sexy, so we dress it up and view it thru' our emotional outlook. As our emotions change, so does our truth. But really... truth is the one thing that will never change. So again... do you know?

I celebrate Michael Jackson for the truth I know about his art. He was a genius; this is true and will not change.

I challenge you to surround yourself in truth. Dash the emotionally obscured views and accept only truth. You will find yourself happy and your life will be nicer.

"...if they say why, why; tell 'em that it's human nature; why, why, does he do me that way..." - michael jackson*

Emptiness In Waiting.

Unpublished Works, © 2006, BillyPauleyJr.*

Emptiness In Waiting.

Lately I’ve been weakened,
By the things I can’t control,
Creating distance like a rocket,
Between me and my soul,
I can only hope you’ll see,
Beneath my outer woe,
The love here waiting for you,
But alas, it’s only hope,

And in my cold reality,
O’, why would someone wait for me,
I’ve nothing now to offer you,
My sky is often dismal blue,

The world outside is far too rough,
O’, here inside I’m full of love,
But the emptiness in waiting is not enough,

Here inside my trouble,
I can’t expect for you to know,
The pain of my perception,
In the fear I often hold,
O’, somewhere in the distance,
Just beyond life’s recent view,
Is the lonely, silent promise,
Of the love I have for you,

And in my cold reality,
O’, why would someone wait for me,
I’ve nothing now to offer you,
My sky is often dismal blue,

The world outside is far too rough,
O’, here inside I’m full of love,
But the emptiness in waiting is not enough,

Lately I’ve been shattered,
By the emptiness in you,
Created by the pressure,
From my overwhelming truth,
How long can love survive,
Bound inside my angry doubt,
I have so much love here for you,
But my time is running out,

And in my cold reality,
O’, why would someone wait for me,
I’ve nothing now to offer you,
My sky is often dismal blue,

The world outside is far too rough,
O’, here inside I’m full of love,
But the emptiness in waiting is not enough,

O’, honey, it’s just lately I’m not enough,
O’, the emptiness in waiting is not enough.

I Love Ya For It.

Unpublished Works, © 1981, BillyPauleyJr.*

I Love Ya For It.

Sometimes I wonder how I stay alive,
Sometimes I wonder why I fight to survive,
Then comes along a someone like you,
And I know right away why I do,

You’ve got power, you’ve got will,
You’ve got a forceful style,
You’ve got love in your heart,
I can feel for miles,
And on top of all that, your warm, sweet smile,
Couldn’t have come at a better time,

O’, just in the nick of time,
You came up to me baby and you saved my life,
Just in the nick of time,
O’, and I love ya for it,
Just in the nick of time,
You helped me mend this broken heart of mine,
Just in the nick of time,
O’, and I love ya for it,

When I’m without you it chills my heart,
It’s a feeling I get that tears me apart,
But when I get to feeling this way,
I know your smile can save my day,

You’ve got charm, you’ve got wit,
You’ve got a lot of luck,
You’ve got love in your eyes,
I can feel so much,
And on top of all that, your warm, sweet touch,
Couldn’t have come at a better time,

O’, just in the nick of time,
You came up to me baby and you saved my life,
Just in the nick of time,
O’, and I love ya for it,
Just in the nick of time,
You helped me mend this broken heart of mine,
Just in the nick of time,
O’, and I love ya for it,

Sometimes I wonder if I’ll stay alive,
Sometimes I wonder if I’ll ever survive,
Then comes along no one else but you,
And I know love will pull me thru’,

You’ve got spirit, you’ve got soul,
You’ve got a need to help,
You’ve got love in your reach,
That’s never been held,
And on top of all that, your warm, sweet self,
Couldn’t have come at a better time,

O’, just in the nick of time,
You came up to me baby and you saved my life,
Just in the nick of time,
O’, and I love ya for it,
Just in the nick of time,
You helped me mend this broken heart of mine,
Just in the nick of time,
O’, and I love ya for it.

House Full Of Roses.

Unpublished Works, © 2001, Bill Pauley Jr.*

House Full Of Roses.

She wakes herself up crying,
To another day in hell,
It could be he’s not lying,
O’, but it’s just as well,
Each sacrifice she’s making,
Is deeper than the rest,
There’s only so much taking,
Before there’s nothing left,

And she can’t explain it herself,
She couldn’t believe it from anyone else,

She’s got a house full of roses,
And a heart full of pain,
The only thing she knows is,
He says… he’ll never do it again,
But the consequence it poses,
Is driving her insane,
She’s got a house full of roses,
And a heart full of pain,

She falls asleep at night crying,
Another day in hell,
It could be he’s not trying,
O’, but it’s just as well,
She knows her heart is bleeding,
Her love for him is dead,
She knows she should be leaving,
Because there’s nothing left,

And she can’t believe it herself,
She couldn’t explain it to anyone else,

She’s got a house full of roses,
And a heart full of pain,
The only thing she knows is,
He says… he’ll never do it again,
But the consequence it poses,
Is driving her insane,
She’s got a house full of roses,
And a heart full of pain,

O’, and the roses grow deeper and deeper,
And the meaning grows weaker and weaker,
They no longer mean that he needs her,
He’s trying his best just to keep her,

She’s got a house full of roses,
And a heart full of pain,
The only thing she knows is,
She’s sure… he’ll only do it again,
And the consequence it poses,
Is driving her insane,
She’s got a house full of roses,
And a heart full of pain,

O’, she’s got a house full of roses,
And a heart full of pain.

What The Hell Was I Thinkin'?

Unpublished Works, © 2003, BillyPauleyJr.*

What The Hell Was I Thinkin’?

I went out of my way,
To show you my love,
I bo’t you red roses,
I bro’t you a hug,
I told all my friends,
Tonight I’m not drinkin’,
O’, my word,
What the hell was I thinkin’?

O’, what the hell was I thinkin’,
Givin’ you my heart?
It’s like no Saturday drinkin’,
It’s like showing my cards,
It’s like passin’ a cutie,
Not turnin’ and winkin’,
It’s like fallin’ in love with you,
O’, what the hell was I thinkin’?

I went to the cleaners,
Picked up your dress,
I went to the mall,
Got those shoes you like best,
Drove down to Bob’s,
I bo’t you a Lincoln,
O’, my word,
What the hell was I thinkin’?

O’, what the hell was I thinkin’,
Givin’ you my heart?
It’s like no Saturday drinkin’,
It’s like showing my cards,
It’s like passin’ a cutie,
Not turnin’ and winkin’,
It’s like fallin’ in love with you,
O’, what the hell was I thinkin’?

Baby, every man knows it’s true, what I say,
A full house can beat a straight any day,
But I’m taking one hell of a dare,
Startin’ with you only gives me a pair,

O’, what the hell was I thinkin’,
Givin’ you my heart?
It’s like no Saturday drinkin’,
It’s like showing my cards,
It’s like passin’ a cutie,
Not turnin’ and winkin’,
It’s like fallin’ in love with you,
O’, what the hell was I thinkin’?

Yeah, it’s like fallin’ in love with you,
What the hell was I thinkin’?
