Your Wizard Of Oz.
I wanna be your heart’s desire,
I wanna be your whole backyard full,
I wanna be your rainbow’s brighter side,
Auntie Em’ and Professor Marvel,
I wanna be your brainless scarecrow,
You can catch me when I fall,
And if you ever have to go,
You’ll miss me most of all,
I wanna be your ruby slippers,
I wanna click three times for you,
I wanna be your Emerald City,
And your little dog, Toto, too,
I wanna be your cowardly lion,
I wanna be your fraidy-cat,
I wanna be the king of your forest,
With one paw tied behind my back,
I wanna be your little Munchkin,
I wanna build you a yellow brick road,
I wanna be your good witch, Glinda,
And wake you with magical snow,
I wanna be your empty tin man,
You can oil my rusty parts,
I wanna use my ax to set you free,
Only you can break my heart,
I wanna be your home in Kansas,
The love you never really lost,
The dream you can wake up to,
I wanna be your Wizard of Oz.

Pausal Note #2.
Need another break? Me too.
I have to admit, blogging is new to me. I like the exposure it gives my works... I hope you all are sharing this blog with others.
Did you know that Theodor Seuss Geisel (Dr. Seuss) was turned down 44 times by publishers before his work "And To Think I Saw It On Mulberry Street" was accepted by Brown Publishing (a small publisher in NYC)?
Random House tried to acquire him after his work was a huge success, but it's reported he sent his "rejection" letter from them (one of the 44) as his response. Random House's rejection letter stated (like most others) that children didn't like poetry and that nonsensical stories won't sell.
Random House bo't Brown Publishing and eventually gave Seuss his own division "Beginner Books". No single author has sold half as many books for Random House to date.
Apology accepted.
Break's over! Back on your heads!

Shaking Up Shakespeare.
Unpublished Works, © 1979, BillyPauleyJr.*
Shaking Up Shakespeare.
To be or not to be, that is the question,
A Shakespearean soliloquy for Hamlet’s suggestion,
Romeo’s rose by another name would probably wilt,
And did Juliet die the second time from guilt,
Friends, Romans, countrymen, Brutus bro’t Caesar’s end,
With an enemy like that, he was sure short on friends,
While Antony tried to get a grasp on himself,
Cleopatra went and made an asp of herself,
It would’ve been better if the witches had said less,
Then McDuff wouldn’t have left McBeth’s body headless,
Shylock was nothing more than a total menace,
That gave Antonio problems in the Merchant of Venice,
To Shakespeare his plays must’ve been quite something,
But I find them merely Much Ado About Nothing.

Without A Face.

Without A Face.
She’s so content,
Without a way,
She does her part,
She has no say,
O’, but she believes,
That’s her place,
She’s just a girl,
Without a face,
O’, she’s not unhappy,
She just doesn’t know,
She’s an emotion away,
From a heart of gold,
Just the length of her smile,
Keeps her hopes at bay,
O’, she’s an empty soul,
Without a face,
On the wall of love,
She’s a flower now,
No selfless heart,
Will likely vow,
O’, but she believes,
It’s no mistake,
She’s just a girl,
Without a face,
O’, she’s not unhappy,
She just doesn’t know,
She’s an emotion away,
From a heart of gold,
Just the length of her smile,
Keeps her hopes at bay,
O’, she’s an empty soul,
Without a face,
O’, she knows no tears,
She knows no pain,
She feels no loss,
Without a face,
But she knows no joy,
She knows no gain,
O’, she feels no love,
Without a face,
O’, she’s not unhappy,
She just doesn’t know,
She’s an emotion away,
From a heart of gold,

You Can Call Me Clark (Your Un-Superman).
Unpublished Works, © 2004, BillyPauleyJr.*
You Can Call Me Clark (Your Un-Superman).
I can save the world,
But can the world save me,
It’s hard to be un-super now,
When no one wants me to be,
I can love and I can cry,
And I can feel like you,
Everyone can see me fly,
But no one sees me true,
You can call me Clark,
If you truly can,
I would be so proud to be,
Your un-superman,
You can save my days,
In ordinary ways,
You can hold my hand so I won’t,
Need to be so brave,
I could win you away,
With my powers, it’s true,
O’, but I just want the power,
To put a crush on you,
I can jump and I can fly,
And I can win, I know,
But I want to know what it’s like,
To need someone to hold,
You can call me Clark,
If you truly can,
I would be so proud to be,
Your un-superman,
You can save my days,
In ordinary ways,
You can hold my hand so I won’t,
Need to be so brave,
O’, you can save my days,
You can hold my hand,
You can call me Clark,
Your un-superman,
Yeah, you can call me Clark,
Your un-superman.

Fool Moon.

Fool Moon.
I’m just a damn fool,
I know that I am,
You and me together,
That’s a damn fool plan,
But tonight it’s true,
Here in my heart,
Under this fool moon,
We’ll never part,
O’, blame it on the fool moon,
Just blame it on the fool moon,
The sun will be coming up, girl,
And I’ll be a fool soon,
And when I really see you,
You’ll be humming a new tune,
Don’t blame it on your heart,
No, just blame it on the fool moon,
You look so good,
Right where we sit,
Your face all aglow,
Your eyes moonlit,
I think I could stay,
I don’t think you could,
But my damn fool heart,
Sure wishes you would,
O’, blame it on the fool moon,
Just blame it on the fool moon,
The sun will be coming up, girl,
And I’ll be a fool soon,
And when I really see you,
You’ll be humming a new tune,
Don’t blame it on your heart,
No, just blame it on the fool moon,
O’, you can stand out and you can howl,
You can lay low and take a vow,
You can fall down and have a cow,
But you’re under the fool moon,
You’re under the fool moon now,
I’m just a damn fool,
O’, yes, I know that I am,
You and me forever,
That’s a damn fool plan,
But tonight I tho’t,
Here under the stars,
Under this fool moon,
I could win your heart,
O’, blame it on the fool moon,
Just blame it on the fool moon,
The sun will be coming up, girl,
And I’ll be a fool soon,
And when I really see you,
You’ll be humming a new tune,

The Best Part Of Life Is Love.
Unpublished Works, © 1980, BillyPauleyJr.*
The Best Part Of Life Is Love.
There’s nothing like a sunset so deep and yet so long,
A sandy beach beneath our feet and a beautiful love song,
But we only have each other in the middle of a busy day,
And I can still find the short, sweet time it takes to turn and say,
Baby, I love you, I’ll always love you,
And I’ll never ever let you go,
And I can’t live without you ‘cos there’s something about you,
And I just tho’t I’d let it show,
This dusty old apartment is getting dry and worn,
The kitchen wall barely stands at all and the curtains have all been torn,
And an old man collects the rent way above our living style,
And it’s things like these that bring me to my knees, but still it’s all worthwhile,
‘Cos one day we’ll have that sunset so deep and yet so long,
A sandy beach beneath our feet and a beautiful love song,
But until we have that moment we’ve got to live today,
So I’ll just find the short, sweet time it takes to turn and say,
Baby, I love you, I’ll always love you,
And I’ll never ever let you go,
And I can’t live without you ‘cos there’s something about you,
And I just tho’t I’d let it show,
Now, finally, we got our sunset so deep and yet so long,
A sandy beach beneath our feet and a beautiful love song,
And you tell me you wish we had those old and busy days,
‘Cos then you knew it was you and not the view that made me turn and say,
Baby, I love you, I’ll always love you,
And I’ll never ever let you go,
And I can’t live without you ‘cos there’s something about you,
And I just tho’t I’d let it show,
‘Cos, Baby, I love you, I’ll always love you,
So I just tho’t I’d let you know.
