Twenty Years.

Maybe it’s just me,
But you’ve been on my mind,
You’ve been gone for twenty years,
But I still cry,
I don’t know what to do,
I’m lost in all my tears,
You’d be so mad if you could see me,
But you’re not here,

And the circle keeps going round and round,
When the one that I need is the one I’m without,
And the only thing I know for sure is doubt and fear,
It’s been twenty years,

Maybe it’s not fair,
But I’ve been blaming me,
Maybe you would not be gone,
If I could be,
Deep inside my soul,
God knows there’s a prayer,
I’d take your place in heaven, boy,
If He’d have me there,

And the circle keeps going round and round,
When the one that I need is the one I’m without,
And the only thing I know for sure is doubt and fear,
It’s been twenty years,

And I know I was the one who said,
He built his world with so much love,
We can’t be sad he’s no longer here,
Only happy that he ever was,
I give advice, but I cannot live it without you here,

I love you like I love you and I don’t wanna lie,

I know I said some awful things that made you so mad,
And I would do most anything to take it all back,
I wanna say the sweetest things that make you so glad,

I wanna be your friend again, I don’t wanna shout,
I wanna say I love you, that’s what it’s all about,
I’m sorry that I ever gave you reason to doubt,

I know I did some awful things and I let you down,

Just Monday.

It’s Monday,
Hello, Monday,
Why do I rise,
It’s not sleep,
That I’m rubbing,
From my eyes,
It’s just salt,
From the tears,
That I’ve cried,
From the pain,
That she left,
I can’t hide,

O’, and she’s gone,
So far gone,
I can’t feel,
And her lack,
Of concern,
It won’t heal,
O’, and someday,
I’ll be better,
Wait and see,
But for now,
It’s just Monday,
And just me,

O’, now, Monday,
O’, Monday,
Don’t you know,
That I’ve got,
To get ready,
And go,
And I don’t,
Mind going,
On my own,
It just takes,
My fear and,
Drives it home,

O’, and she’s gone,
So far gone,
I can’t feel,
And her lack,
Of concern,
It won’t heal,
O’, and someday,
I’ll be better,
Wait and see,
But for now,

Nobody Cares About You.

You keep looking around yourself,
Like there’s someone there, o’, to find,
But don’t you know there is nobody else,
And nobody else seems to mind,
O’, paintings seem to get richer,
And the sky turns more shades of blue,
But the only thing new in the picture,
Is the length of the shadow on you,

O’, and nobody cares if you’re lonely,
Even tho’ you may think that they do,
O’, they care for only them… only,
That’s why nobody wants to be you,

Search in the stars in the heavens,
Wish on the ones that you know,
“Nothing will change” is your lesson,
You were hoping to learn it not so,
O’, and the stars they seem so much brighter,
In constellations you make,
The truth is your eyes have grown wider,
But the darkness has not gone away,

O’, and nobody cares if you’re lonely,
Even tho’ you may think that they do,
O’, they care for only them… only,
That’s why nobody wants to be you,

Hope From Above.

When I was a kid,
I told a lie,
Yes, I did,
I wanted to die,

There I was,
Bleeding from my pain,
Broken trust,
My chosen grave,

But there in my grief,
My Grandma’s love,
Led me to believe,
Hope from above,

She held me close and dried my tears,
She gave these words I’ve held for years,
O’, there’s not a soul in this world without a past,
But with hope from above,
It will not last,
Forgiveness is the path that leads from hell,
With hope from above,
We’ll walk it well,

Fear can bring you down,
I know it will,
I’ve worn its crown,
It haunts me still,

Here I am,
With love so true,
Yet sometimes damned,
By my own rue,

All my hurt,
Left me for dead,
Lost those words,
My Grandma said,

She held me close and dried my tears,
She gave these words lost thru’ the years,

Forgiveness is the path that leads from hell,

When I worry and let fear take over me,

Starry Night (VVG).

It was a starry night,
When I first believed I loved her,
There was a deep blue sky,
In the world surrounding me,
She was a golden moon,
Embracing my emotion,
Making love like a crescendo,
Spilling into my need,

It was a starry night,
It was a true, true light,
Shining over me from her crescent moon,
It was a starry night,
It was a golden sky,
Falling over me like some timeless rune,

O’, it was a starry night,
When I last held her dancing,
There was a deep blue desire,
From the song in my soul,
It sang our truth into time,
Over doubt and its power,
Kept her waxing devotion,
In spite of my waning woe,

It was a starry night,
It was a true, true light,
Shining over me from her crescent moon,
It was a starry night,
It was a golden sky,
Falling over me like some timeless rune,

It was a starry night,
It was a golden light,
Like a flame in my deep blue emotion,
It was a passionate voice,
It was nothing by choice,
It was love in my starry ocean,

It was a starry night,
It was a true, true light,
Shining over me from her crescent moon,
It was a starry night,
It was a golden sky,
Falling over me like some timeless rune,
Falling under her magical tune,

Wishing my heart’s desire,
Eleven golden times,
Into my deep blue life,
On a starry night,

Cleopatra’s Alive.

Daylight in Egypt,
I’m so mesmerized,
Everywhere I look I see,
Cleopatra’s alive,
Every where I go,
There to my surprise,
I feel the light, the raging fire,
Burn in her eyes,

O’, she’s an ancient queen,
Living in modern dreams,
She’s found a way to stay here now,
In all her majesty,
O’, me, o’, my,
What a sight to see,
Cleopatra’s alive,
In my Egyptian dreams,

Twilight in Egypt,
Magic in the midst,
The feel of romance building,
Like the pyramids,
Perfect in design,
Making history,
I feel her heart, the bleeding power,
Of her mystery,

O’, she’s an ancient queen,
Living in modern dreams,
She’s found a way to stay here now,
In all her majesty,
O’, me, o’, my,
What a sight to see,
Cleopatra’s alive,
In my Egyptian dreams,

Midnight in Egypt,
In the pale moonlight,
I see her starry image,
In the Egyptian nights,
Dancing on the moon,
Walking in my dreams,
I feel her soul, her awesome tarek,
Shining over me,

O’, she’s an ancient queen,
Living in modern dreams,
She’s found a way to stay here now,
In all her majesty,

What a sight to see,
Cleopatra’s alive,
